All Electric Garages holds franchises in locations throughout Greater Birmingham with a Preparation Centre and also a Group Body shop approved by the Manufacturers they cover. One of the most established and recognised brands in the Midlands, it is hard to drive through the county without seeing one of their cars.

Objective

To address staff turnover and create a platform for cross communication throughout the group a closed web infrastructure that would allow for 200 employees to manage their profiles, holiday entitlements and arrange cover.

The Project

Working closely with All Electric’s Human Resources and Training Department we ascertained exactly what ‘paper’ processes were currently in place and then devised a web application that could manage and record these baseon managerial / employee permissions. Extensive testing to cover every conceivable transaction was required to ensure stability.

The Result

All Electric’s first Intra / Extranet is now used by nearly 200 Staff. Employee Disciplinary and File Reporting now ensures that all information is accessible by relevant HR, Managers and Relief Managers at all times. Holiday tracking and ‘Auto Cover’ ensures that enquiries and customer service and sustained through absence.

Our relationship with Rice media began some years ago now with the development of our website.

The motor business we are in is a complex one with many franchises all under the one All Electric banner and Ricemedia’s ideas for composing the website for us at the time were inspiring. With no previous motor trade experience their understanding of our business, customers and the requirements of both was essential, and the delivery was indeed more than any one at our company could have expected.

Obviously, as with all business’s, things do not stand still for very long and the ongoing support of the Ricemedia team has been excellent with major and minor changes to detail and operation being completed with the minimum of fuss and aggravation to our business. With this level of support in mind our only choice for our second major web based project the All Electric intranet site was once again Ricemedia and once again the understanding of our business was paramount as we required a Human Resources driven site to assist in the internal business communications. We are about to embark on a revised version of the retail website to incorporate the latest technologies available within this arena, utilising some of the detail from our intranet site to enhance the site. We shall once again be using Ricemedia for their outstanding attention to detail, design ideas and understanding of the All Electric business.
